5 Rules to help you through it all.

Rule #1: Don't panic. If your team sees you panic they will too.  Stay calm and cool, unless you are a frantic worry wart, in which case just act normal. Communicate with your staff and let them know where the business stands.  Ask them for ideas to help get through the rough spots.  Many times you will be surprised what they will come up with.

Rule #2: Continue to market your business. While your competitors are cutting their marketing budgets you shouldn't.   Now is a great time to market your products and get more for less.  Most marketing venues are giving great deals just to keep the lights on, so think twice before you pay full price for any marketing, but don't go for the jugular either because you want them to be there for you when things get better.

Rule #3: Don't deep discount. Deep discounting de-values your brand and sets low cost expectations for wholesalers and consumers.  Yes ,it gets a few dollars in the door today, but it will break you tomorrow.  If you value your brand don't deep discount.

Rule # 4: Communicate with your customers. Let them know you are still there.  Most people are glad to hear a friendly voice.  Contact customers who you have not heard from in a while.  Don't make it just about the sale, make it about them too.  This is a great time to build or rebuild relationships.  Remember. Out of sight... out of mind.  So stay in touch with your customers.

Rule #5: Cut out the waste.  This is something you should always be doing, but when times are good we forget to focus on it. Look at areas in your business where there is waste.  Waste in a process causes work to take too long.  Waste in services does not bringing the value you expected or that you are paying for but not using .   At Gozooko we use waste eliminating processes in everything we do and we continue to build these waste eliminating processes into our Gozooko 1 product line.
